On-off valve

Code: R140

R140 pneumatic on-off valves are designed to operate on instrument or plant air supply direct, i.e. since the diaphragm can easily withstand operating pressures of 8.50 BarG the usual air regulator for reducing air signal pressure, is not required. They are more compact than R40 on-off valves, but use the same body, and thus are interchangeable in the pipeline.

The specification includes a choice of flanged or screwed bodies metal or soft seating (seat guided plug), direct or reverse acting actuators, and all the usual auxiliaries such as limit switches, solenoid valves, slow open/quick close valves, etc.

Unless otherwise specified, on-off valves will be supplied to fail safe, i.e. close on air failure with direction of flow assisting to shut the valve.

For applications where the plug must close downwards – seat fitted from top of body – please specify a reverse acting actuator when ordering.
