Upstream pressure relief regulator, angle type body.

Code: R720HP

The R.720 series high pressure relief type valve has been designed to satisfy the industrial demand for a direct acting pressure regulator capable of accurately controlling liquids and gases (not steam) in a pump delivery line, for instance, where considerable changes in load may occur.

It is robustly constructed with an angle type flanged body, a large sensitive control spring and a fully protected diaphragm. The internal comprising a clamp ring, pressure plate, diaphragms and plug and seat are sub-divided into high and low pressure assemblies.

Variations from the standard valve illustrated include hand adjustment by tommy bar of the set pressure adjusting screw and differential control applications where a secondary (controlling pressure is piped to the spring chamber.

Operation

When the upstream pressure rises beyond ‘set point’ the force acting on the diaphragm increases, lifting it and compressing the control spring. This also raises the plug, opening the valve and allowing excess fluid to escape through the outlet port.
