R870 - Control valve
This single seat control valve is suitable for many control systems and have wide application throughout industry. The R870 is of rugged construction with top and bottom guided plug to give maximum stiffness and long trouble free life. This design is available in direct acting (push down to close) or reverse acting (push down to open) body styles and except when microflte or microtaper plugs are used.
Actuators
Standard actuators are spring and diaphragm type R812 & R832 but other types including electric motor can be fitted. See valve actuator section for details.
The R870 can be supplied complete with positioners, limit switches solenoid valves, fail-fix locking valve and also supplied fitted with the ESME R88 Pilot.
The R870 body is available direct acting (push down to close) or reverse acting (push-down to open).

PLUG AND SEATS
316 grade St/steel. Set is screwed in and replaceable. Equal
percentage, linear or quick open plug are standard with microtaper
available for low flows. Stellite facing is available as an extra for
severe service conditions. Soft seated plugs are available in 1"
(25mm) sizes upwards.
PACKING
Spring loaded Fluon V-rings. For higher temperatures graphited
asbestos -free packing can be supplied.
BONNET
Standard bonnet and packing can be used from minus 15 to plus
235ºC. The standard bonnet can be used with graphited
packing to 315ºC. For temperatures below minus 15ºC and above
235ºC extension bonnets are available to keep the packing box at
reasonable temperatures and clear of pipe lagging and insulation.
