The R560 provides a reliable and inexpensive screwed body pressure reducing regulator, maintaining a constant down stream pressure within close limits regardless of changes in demand or inlet pressure. They are designed to control Steam, Air, Water, Oil, Gases and most liquid Chemicals (within the constraints of the valve material).
Operation
The self acting pressure regulator operates as follows: An increase of demand (flow) through the valve will cause an initial pressure reduction on the under side of the diaphragm, the compression in the spring is now greater than the pressure under the diaphragm, this causes the diaphragm to move down which results in the opening of the valve to restore the pressure. Inversely a reduction in demand results in a closing of the valve.
